urban structure of canberra
The urban structure of Canberra was designed by the American engeneer Walter Burley Griffin in the year 1913.
Canberra is built around the artificial lake Burley Griffin (named like this because of the engeneer that designed the city)
We can distinguish different quarters in Camberra. Each quarters has its job, function, etc. For example: the baker quarter, the butcher quarter, etc.
Each quarter is inside a big district. There are 7 districts in Canberra: North Canberra, South Canberra, Wooden Valley, Belconnen, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong and Gunghalin.
The Triangular zone is a special part of the city. Inside it there´s a park and the Australian parliament
